Ian Porton
Ian is Managing Director of the parent company, based in London. With an insurance career that commenced in 1964 he has experienced claims handling in insurance companies, captives and UK loss adjusting operations. In 1982 he became an international loss adjuster, beginning a long association with the Middle East with a 3½ year stay in Saudi Arabia. Specialising in construction and engineering claims he has, in later years, been involved in projects and losses world-wide.

Notable achievements include management of a major (US 1.3 billion) political risks claim for damage to a petrochemical complex following the Iran/Iraq war, being part of the planning programme for the insurance programme for the recovery of the Kuwait oil fields following the Iraqi withdrawal, and connection with this and service on DTI commission being the first adjuster into Kuwait after cessation of hostilities. He was also instrumental in developing what was believed to have been the first internet based claims management system which has been used successfully for many years now on projects such as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link.

Michael Littleboy
Mike is Deputy Managing Director of Miller International responsible for financial matters.

Mike is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters prize winner, who started his career at Dearle and Henderson Professional Quantity Surveyors before embarking on a loss adjusting career with GAB Robins, Crawfords and now Miller International.

Mike has a wide experience of construction projects and examples of more recent and current nominations include the world-famous London Eye, The UK National Hockey Stadium and various commercial office developments including Plantation Place in the City of London.

Mike has also handled losses on various transport projects including Heathrow Express, Jubilee Line Extension Project, DLR Extension and the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. Mike was also the Account Director for the construction of the Bluewater Shopping Centre and other new-build shopping centres throughout the UK and Europe.

Makoto Tochio

Makoto is one of two adjusters on secondment from our Japanese operation, with a view to learning more about the operation of the international and reinsurance markets. Currently licenced by Examination as a Grade 3 Loss Adjuster in Japan, in 1998 he also obtained a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from Shibaura Institute of Technology. He continued these studies and in 2000 was awarded Master of Engineering from the same Institute, specialising in Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Takuto Nakase

Takuto is one of two adjusters on secondment from our Japanese operation, with a view to learning more about the operation of the international and reinsurance markets. Takuto has, by Examination, a Grade 2 licence for Loss Adjusting in Japan, and is currently awaiting on his granting of a Grade 1 Architect licence.

He obtained his BSc. Degree in Construction Engineering in 1998 from Keio University, and went on to complete his Masters in 2000.
